Can I let you in on a little secret?
Your copy doesn’t always have to be time relevant. You can create content that is always in season. We call this evergreen content. And it is one of the best ways to enable you to consistently churn out content on your communication channels.
Evergreen content is great because you can revisit and revise the content as you develop and grow as a business/ministry/brand. It can even help you develop offerings and allow you to understand what your audience truly values.
Simple steps to making evergreen content:
- Open up Word or whatever word processor you use. Some people even use Google docs, you do you)
- Determine at least five subjects you can really go deep on. (For example, I focus on marketing, mindset, fitness/nutrition, faith, and some of my personal life)
- Decide what channel you are writing this content for.
- Get to typing and save often.
Keep this file on your computer, and when you are struggling to develop anything time relevant, pull from your evergreen file and tweak.
From this evergreen content, you can also pull information to make lead magnets, courses, and link round ups. The possibilities are endless, it is up to you to just start this. If you look at my social media evergreen file (that I just started yesterday) I have six pages worth of content! And with each post, I get inspired to do more.
I highly recommend you make space for this in your marketing toolbox. It will allow you free up some of your time to do other things.
